Super Simple Affiliate Marketing
If you are looking to make a little extra income, doing so is fairly simple if you know what steps to take. Additionally, doing so is extremely cost effective, especially these days. All that is required is a computer, a little technical know-how and a little time to write each day. What is that, you say? You do not have time to write? Sure you do. Ho much time do you spend each day watching television? For most people it is a couple of hours or more. This article covers the steps required to launch a small but respectable, home-based business that can be run in the amount of time it takes you to watch your favorite TV shows. It is called "Article Marketing" and it is extremely effective. There are three things we have to get familiar with to make this work. They are Top Level Domains (TLDs), Article Directories, and Affiliate Links.
Top Level Domains. Top level domains are web domain names. If you have spent any time at all on the internet, you are familiar with top level domains. Any web address that you type into your browser is a top level domain. These domain names have many different designations. The ones we are most familiar with are dot com, dot net and dot org. However, there are many others that are being used such as dot tv, dot info and dot biz. Some even specify a geographical location such as the UK which uses the designation dot co dot uk. With all of that in mind, as a means to keep things simple and cost effective, we are going to focus on using dot info domains for two reasons.
The first reason is because the extension dot info make sense for our projects because of the fact that we will be purchasing top level domain names based around informational keywords and the second reason is that they are extremely cheap. Dot info domains can be registered for about a buck a year for each. The best place to purchase your domain name for this price is GoDaddy. Once you have your domain names, proceed to the next step, writing articles about your subject of interest and submitting them to article directories.
Article Directories. Once you have your domain names picked out and purchased, proceed with turning off the television and writing some articles about a subject that interests you. Write articles that discuss a problem or an issue that you have a solution to. In your articles discuss some of the solution, but not all of it. All article directories allow the author of the article to embed a resource link in the resource box. This allows readers of the articles that you submit to click on the link you provide when they finish reading the article and are hungry for the complete solution to the problem that the article is addressing.
Ideally, this solution would be a product that addresses their problem and that has affiliate program that you can sign up for. At the end of all of your articles, in the resource box, point to this solution of the problem and link to it using a link that points to one of the dot info domains that you purchased. Generally, domain name registrars will allow you to redirect any traffic that comes to your domain name through what is referred to as an affiliate or hop link. it is important to note that article directories do not allow affiliate links in the resource box of an article. Your dot info TLD has to be the link in the resource box and your TLD must redirect through your affiliate link.
Affiliate and Hop Link Redirects. Affiliate links or hop links are links provided to an affiliate by a product owner. Each affiliate gets their own unique link that identifies any traffic that comes through an affiliates link as traffic credited to that affiliate. As a web browser follows an affiliate or hop link, a cookie is placed on the computer of the browser. When the browser lands on the page selling the product, whatever it is, the affiliate cookie is recognized and if a sale is made, that affiliate gets credit for the sale and a commission is paid.
Needless to say, the more articles you write, the greater the exposure your affiliate link will see via your top level domain redirect. Article marketing is a great way to boost your income if you like to write. It is simple, effective and the fact that articles are syndicated via article directories makes the spreading of your affiliate links around the web that much more likely. If you are interested, definitely try it out.
